Battlefield 2 : Special Forces
IGN has a hands-on preview on their site of Battlefield 2 : Special Forces. Special Forces is almost identical to it’s predecessor, however, new equipment has been added that will change the way in which teams or players can win or lose the game. Game speed has slowed down a bit, and more importance has been placed on the creation of balanced squads.
“Unfortunately we’ve only had the game for a day here so we haven’t had the chance to check out each of the maps to its fullest, but what we’ve seen is pretty interesting. While the games we’ve played have been largely single player as there isn’t anyone to play against most of the time, it’s easy to see that there’s a lot of focus being placed on teamwork and maps (especially the smaller ones) are tuned to take advantage of infantry combat. Almost all of the maps (there are eight new maps, six of which can be played in single player) deal with close quarters or city street fighting in some aspect.”
