Rise & Fall Gone Gold

The highly detailed new RTS, Rise & Fall : Civilizations at War has gone gold. Just over 2 weeks and you will be able to pick up this hot game from your local game shop, or order it online like the cool people do. Will this be the most beautiful RTS game ever developed? You’ll be the judge. But we can tell you that the screenshots released so far are very impressive. According to IGN the game runs in 1280×720 resolution without much slowdown. Obviously you’ll not be able to do that with your 1000 MHZ system. One of the unique features of this game is the Hero Mode which let’s you control a character and play with it like a FPS game or RPG game. Naval warfare is another great feature with many strategic options.

Readers may recall that this game was previously under development by Stainless Steel Studios before Midway took over in December of last year, but the new publisher says what we’ll see on the retail shelf should be 100% of the original lead designer’s blueprint. However things turn out, the game was looking quite solid, running at 1280×720 on a big LCD monitor without any noticeable slowdown, despite all the environmental effects like swaying vegetation, unit activity, and building construction occurring on screen.
