Command & Conquer 3 - Tiberium Wars

IGN has a very interesting article on their site about the upcoming Command & Conquer 3 - Tiberium Wars game. Tiberium is the Black Gold in this game, and has been in previous C&C titles. They talk to Mike Verdu of EA about the valuable yet deadly Tiberium. All 3 factions in Command & Conquer are eager to get their hands on Tiberium, as it’s the back-bone of their economies. There are different zones in the game as classified by the GDI, with blue being the least Tiberium infested zone - and yellow having the highest concentration. Within the game, Tiberium generally manifests itself in the form of irregularly shaped fields of crystal that grow out of the ground at various locations on the game maps. The distribution and density of Tiberium depends on the type of zone that you’re playing in - remember that GDI has classified the surface of the Earth by zone depending on the level of Tiberium infestation. Blue Zones are relatively pristine and have minimal Tiberium contamination. Yellow Zones have significant Tiberium concentrations that are relatively widespread—Tiberium is everywhere and it’s dramatically affecting the environment. Red Zones are uninhabitable hellscapes where Tiberium infestation has reached critical levels.
